India's legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is all set to make a comeback for the Indian side, as the veteran has been signed to feature in the iconic Hong Kong Sixes tournament.

Ashwin retired from international cricket earlier in December, and he further announced his IPL retirement recently, which has now made him eligible to feature in various leagues across the world. 

R Ashwin set to feature in the Hong Kong Sixes

Ashwin last played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League and will now return to the field with the unique Hong Kong Sixes, a one-of-a-kind tournament hosted by Hong Kong Cricket. 

The tournament is set to take place from November 7th to November 9th this year. It will also feature an Indian side which includes former cricketers. 

Cricket Hong Kong also confirmed the development on its official social media handle, as the cricket fans in Hong Kong will get to see Ashwin play for the first time.

What is the Hong Kong Sixes tournament?

The Hong Kong Sixes tournament is a one-of-a-kind event designed by Hong Kong Cricket for television viewing, with rules and a venue that encourage aggressive batting and high-scoring matches. 

The tournament is officially sanctioned by the International Cricket Council and is held at the Koowon Cricket Club and the Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok. 

The tournament returned last year after a seven-year hiatus. It usually features a total of 8 or 12 teams. Team India was a part of the tournament last year and was led by Robin Uthappa with a side that included the likes of Shabaz Nadeem, Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, and Stuart Binny, among others.
