Asia Cup 2025 is heating up in Dubai, and everyone is talking about the India-Pakistan clash on 14th September. But off-field drama is stealing some spotlight too.
Former Pakistan cricketer Mudassar Nazar has criticized ex-players for constantly blaming Pakistan Cricket Board and current players whenever the team loses.

According to Nazar, many ex-players are waiting for Pakistan to stumble so they can tear into the team and the PCB on their TV shows or YouTube channels.
Why did Mudassar Nazar blast Pakistan’s former players?
Nazar didn’t hold back in his statement. He accused several ex-cricketers of jumping on the bandwagon whenever Pakistan loses, using the failures to gain views and hype on media platforms.
He believes some of them even secretly want Pakistan to lose, so they can get attention for shows or YouTube content.
He said, “The former cricketers, former Pakistan players that jump on bandwagon and criticize Pakistan team left right and center and some of them yearn for Pakistan to lose so that they can start their programs and go hard at Pakistani player and PCB. PCB bashing has become a great sport in Pakistan as you know,” said Nazar.
Some fans argue these former cricketers are just looking for views or money, while others say they are pointing out real issues. Instead of helping, it creates unnecessary negativity around the team.

How is this noise affecting Pakistan’s Asia Cup campaign?
Heading into the Super Four race, the timing of this debate could not be worse for Pakistan.
Losses like the one against India spark a storm of criticism, while even wins, like their recent victory over UAE, fail to silence the noise completely.
Players like Salman Ali Agha and Shaheen Afridi are under pressure to deliver, while younger stars such as Saim Ayub are being picked apart for repeated failures.
With the crucial IND vs PAK game around the corner, he wants players to believe in themselves instead of worrying about the next YouTube rant.
