South Africa defeated India by 408 runs in the second Test in Guwahati on Wednesday to secure a 2-0 series win, their first Test series victory in India in 25 years. It is the second time in just over a year that visiting teams have blanked India at home in a Test series.
In November last year, New Zealand had beaten India 3-0, thereby inflicting a whitewash on them for the first time in 24 years.
World champions South Africa were dominant in India, winning the first Test in Kolkata by 30 runs on a difficult track. In Guwahati, they outclassed India in all departments to register their second biggest Test win by runs.
