The teaser - shared by Madhavan on Instagram, features both men dressed in all-black tactical gear - bulletproof vests, sunglasses and guns in hand. The video is titled "The Chase."
It was announced as an upcoming project directed by Vasan Bala. However, Madhavan didn't reveal whether it's a full-fledged film, a web series or something else entirely.
"One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up - a wild, explosive chase begins," Madhavan wrote while unveiling the teaser.

Fans flooded the comments section, with many calling it Dhoni's movie debut. Some speculated it could be an ad shoot, while others hoped it would mark the start of a career in films for the five-time IPL-winning Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain.
The visual of Dhoni in combat gear also struck a chord given his real-life association with the armed forces. He holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army - a title he received in 2011.

On the cricket front, Dhoni has not played since CSK's IPL 2025 match against the Gujarat Titans. While he retired from international cricket in 2020, he continues to represent Chennai, whom he has led to five IPL titles: the joint-most in league history.
Whether The Chase is a film, a series or an ad, Dhoni's presence has already created enough buzz to keep fans eagerly waiting.
