Virat Kohli’s return to international cricket in the first ODI against Australia at Perth did not go as fans had hoped.

Coming in at No.3 after Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal, the Indian star lasted just eight deliveries before falling for a duck, caught by Cooper Connolly off Mitchell Starc.

How did Virat Kohli get out in Perth in the first ODI against Australia?

Kohli came to the crease after Rohit fell for 8 runs. Adjusting to the pace and bounce at Optus Stadium, he looked slightly off rhythm.

Starc delivered a perfect outswinger, pitched outside off, tempting Kohli to play his trademark cover drive.

The bat’s outer edge carried straight to backward point, where Connolly completed a brilliant diving catch. It was also his first duck in ODIs on Australian soil.
