Mohammed Nabi showed his class in Abu Dhabi when Afghanistan needed him most. The senior all-rounder smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers all around the park, turning the game in just one over.

What looked like a struggling innings soon became a night to remember as Nabi hit five sixes in the final over to give Afghanistan hope in their do-or-die Asia Cup clash.

How did Nabi’s explosive hitting change Afghanistan’s innings?

Afghanistan were in serious trouble at 79 for six. Wickets kept falling, and the innings looked like it would end far below a fighting score.

That is when Nabi walked in and shifted the mood completely. He smashed 60 runs from just 22 balls, turning what could have been an average total into a challenging one.

The highlight was the final over against Dunith Wellalage, where Nabi struck three sixes back-to-back, then two more after a no-ball.

The crowd roared, and suddenly Afghanistan’s total jumped to 169. That single over alone brought 32 runs, and it was enough to change the story of the first innings.

Nabi equalled Afghanistan’s fastest T20I fifty, reaching it in only 20 balls, the same as teammate Azmatullah Omarzai earlier in the tournament. More importantly, it came in a must-win clash, where every run mattered.

Nabi’s cameo not only lifted Afghanistan to 169/8 but also gave the bowlers a target worth fighting for.

Rashid Khan’s handy 24 also added stability, but it was Nabi’s fireworks that left Sri Lanka under pressure before even starting their chase.
