The 2025 edition of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 got underway on August 11 but not in its usual home. Originally scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the tournament has now been shifted to Mysuru due to safety concerns.
According to ESPNCricinfo, the Karnataka State Cricket Association could not get police clearance after a state committee flagged the stadium as unfit for large-scale events.
As a result, all 34 matches of this two-week tournament will now be held at Mysuru's Wadeyar Stadium where the KSCA is making last-minute arrangements for seating, pitches and broadcast setups.
Defending champions Mysore Warriors will face the Bengaluru Blasters in a rematch of last season's final on opening day. The competition will feature six teams with star players and a strong fan base expected to tune in - especially after last year's edition drew over 39 million viewers.
