Mark Wood chooses Jack Leach over a lap in speedos

During the game, Wood was asked if he would prefer celebrating every wicket by kissing teammate Jack Leach on the forehead or by running a lap of the ground wearing nothing but speedos.

Without hesitation, Wood went for the first option - saying it would be "an absolute honour" to kiss Leach's head.

"Jack Leach, 100%. I mean, I don't even have to think about kissing Jack Leach's head, that's an absolute honour," said Wood.

That candid response has since gone viral - adding to the growing list of funny moments between the England duo who share a close bond both on and off the field.

The speed round threw plenty of tricky scenarios at Wood. He admitted he would rather bowl in full knight's armour than run up in roller skates - referencing his love for castles in the North East.

When asked whether he would prefer to run out his skipper on 99 or drop a catch off a hat-trick ball, he reluctantly leaned towards the run-out - calling a hat-trick "iconic."

He also recalled the terror of facing Mitchell Johnson's bouncers; suggesting he would rather take a yorker from Lasith Malinga without pads than relive that experience.

Clips of the episode have been widely shared across social media with fans praising Wood's natural humour. It was another reminder that alongside the pressures of elite cricket, players like Wood manage to keep the game entertaining off the field as well.
