India will square off against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday in Dubai - the third meeting between the two arch-rivals in this tournament. India came out on top in both the group stage and Super Four clashes but the final promises an even bigger test.

Ahead of the match, many have pointed to India's Super Over win against Sri Lanka as a key moment in their build-up to the title clash.

What did Irfan Pathan say ahead of the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final?

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes India's nail-biting encounter against Sri Lanka in the Super Fours will work in their favour. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pathan said that such contests prevent a team from becoming complacent.

"My opinion is that the tight match against Sri Lanka which they eventually won in the Super Over is good for India. Sometimes when you play very good cricket, you sometimes become a little slack. That confidence is necessary but if that confidence gives way to arrogance, that might be a problem," Pathan said.

He added that Sri Lanka exposed how even strong sides can be pushed to the limit - reminding India that no game can be taken lightly.
