The Indian test team will be back in action after a gap of two months as they are all set to host West Indies in a two-match series, starting October 2.

The Red-ball side under the captaincy of Shubman Gill had a terrific outing in England during the summer as they came back from behind to hold the hosts to a 2-2 draw.

The Indian Test team are dealt with a major injury blow as fast Prasidh Krishna suffered a head injury during day 2 of the 2nd Unofficial Test between India A and Australia A in Lucknow.

While batting at No.7, Krishna was hit on his head while facing Australian fast bowler Henry Thornton. He was immediately taken off the pitch, where he received further treatment.

What happens if Prasidh Krishna misses out on West Indies series?

Krishna indeed played a key role in India winning the final Test at Oval against England, which helped the visitors draw the series 2-2, but India boast of a huge pace arsenal and there are plenty of options in hand.

Bumrah and Siraj will spearhead the pace battery, while players like Akash Deep, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh are there to fill in as a third fast bowler. Even veteran star Mohammed Shami could also make the cut and return to the Test team.
