After two years of association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the Indian cricket team's (men & women) sponsors, Dream11 is all set to end their ties, according to multiple media reports.

The decision came after the Government of India passed the "The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill" in both houses of the parliament last week.

Dream11's exit comes just weeks before the Indian men's team begin their journey in the upcoming Asia Cup, which kicks off on September 9 in the UAE.

With Dream11 out, BCCI have started their search for a new sponsor, which will feature on the players' jerseys at the Asia Cup and the tournaments going forward, in both men's and women's cricket.

Who will be the Indian cricket team's next sponsor?

While the BCCI are yet to finalise a new sponsor, as per NDTV, Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer Toyota have shown interest in sponsoring the Indian cricket team.

A source close to the developments has told BCCI, "Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up have all shown interest till now. However, the official tendering process has not started yet."

The report further claimed that jerseys for the Asia Cup were already printed, with Dream11 featuring at the front of the shirts, however, those jerseys will no longer be used.

What did BCCI say about Dream11's exit?

Last week, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia had conveyed that the board is committed to complying with the regulations that the Union government had come up with.

Saikia was quoted as saying, "If it’s not permissible, we’ll not do anything. The BCCI will follow every policy of the country that is framed by the central government."
