The 16th edition of the ICC Under-19 World Cup kicked off on January 15 and is being jointly hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia. The final of the tournament will be held on February 6.
Australia head into the tournament as the defending champions after beating India in 2024. They are also one of the two most successful sides in the history of the tournament, having won it four times.

Although India lost two finals since 2020, they remain the most successful team in history as they lifted the trophy a record five times, with their last success coming in 2022, when they beat England in the final. They have also finished as runners-up four times.
India’s Under-19 World Cup record and past champions
India's first-ever victory in the U-19 World Cup came in 2000 under the captaincy of former India international Mohammed Kaif. India have witnessed some of the finest players in history competing at the youth World Cup, with the most famous name being Virat Kohli, who led the team to glory in 2008.
This time around, India boast of a strong squad consisting of quality players like captain Ayush Mhatre and wonderkid Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been in sensational form in the last few months.
