India's two-match Test series against the West Indies offered plenty of talking points, from standout batting displays to some mixed performances with the ball.

Several players used the series to strengthen their place in the squad, while others missed the chance to make a strong impression.

As India whitewashed the series 2-0, here is a look at how each Indian player fared: who stood out, who struggled, and how the team's contributors performed in India's latest Test challenge.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Rating: Excellent.

The Indian opener only managed 36(54) in the first Test in Ahmedabad but followed it up by a fantastic knock of 175 (258) before an unfortunate runout in Delhi.

He ended up as the highest run-scorer of the series with 219 runs at an average of 73.00.

KL Rahul

Rating: Excellent

Rahul continued his great form at the top of the order with another 100-run knock in the series opener. He looked good in the first innings in Delhi before falling for a Jomel Warrican delivery that turned sharply.

He went on to score 58 not out in the final innings of the second Test, driving India's chase to seal the series.

Sai Sudharsan

Rating: Good

Starting off with a disappointing note, Sai Sudharsan made the opportunity count in the second Test and got his highest Test score of 87 during his 193(306) stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Shubman Gill (c)

Rating: Very good

The Indian skipper backed up his supreme Test form from the England tour, with a fifty followed by a 129* in the second Test to put India in a strong position. The win also marked Shubman Gill's first series win as captain.

Dhruv Jurel (wk)

Rating: Good

In the first Test, Jurel scored his maiden century in Test cricket and his second fifty-plus score at the international level, following his 90 against England in Ranchi last year. Across six Tests, he now averages above 37. In the WI series, he averaged an impressive 87.50.

Nitish Kumar Reddy

Rating: Below average

With the bat, Nitish Reddy has got an opportunity to bat only once. He scored a quick 43 in India's huge total of 518/5d in the second Test.

As for bowling, he bowled just four overs in the first Test and wasn't given the ball at Delhi. Reddy finished the series wicketless with the ball and minimal impact with the bat.

Ravindra Jadeja (vc)

Rating: Excellent

Like Reddy, Jadeja also got the chance to bat only once in this series. He scored a magnificent hundred in that innings during the first Test.

He continued his excellent performance with the ball, though, taking 8 wickets at an average of 27.12. For his all-around performance, he was awarded the Player of the Series.

Washington Sundar

Rating: Below average

Washington Sundar has not had a great time in the series. He has taken only 3 wickets across 4 innings at an average of 49.33.

Kuldeep Yadav

Rating: Excellent

Kuldeep Yadav has been exceptional with the ball. He has been the highest wicket-taker in the series, taking 12 wickets at an average of 19.50.

Jasprit Bumrah

Rating: Good

Jasprit Bumrah played both Tests and bowled relatively fewer overs to manage his workload. He had a good time with the bowl, taking 7 wickets at an average of 20.28. 

Mohammed Siraj

Rating: Very good

Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the pacers this series. He took 10 wickets across 4 innings at an impressive average of 13.00.
