India created history on November 2, 2025 as they lifted their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup trophy after 52 runs win over South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
However, many fans have one big question on their minds- will there be an open bus parade for Harmanpreet Kaur and her team like the one seen after India’s men’s T20 World Cup win last year?

Let’s take a look at the current situation and what the BCCI has said so far about the team’s victory celebrations.
Will India have an open bus victory parade after the Women’s World Cup win?
As of now, the BCCI has not confirmed any plans for a grand open bus parade to celebrate the women’s team’s historic World Cup win. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that no official arrangements have been made yet.
Speaking at the Mumbai airport, Saikia mentioned that several senior officials, including himself, are travelling to Dubai for ICC meetings from November 4 to 7 and that final plans for the celebration will be discussed only after their return.
So, while fans across the country are eagerly waiting for a victory parade, they might have to wait a little longer before any final announcement is made.
As per the latest reports by The Hindu, the BCCI is unlikely to conduct an open bus parade. Logistical difficulties and the recent tragic incident at RCB's victory parade in Bengaluru have prompted the board to decide against any such celebration.
A lot of people lost their lives outside the M Chinaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru while trying to be a part of RCB's IPL-winning celebrations.
Why has the bus parade not been announced yet?
The main reason for the delay is the ongoing ICC meeting in Dubai, which involves top BCCI officials.
With the board’s leadership currently occupied, the focus will shift to planning a fitting celebration once they are back in India.
Apart from that, the BCCI has also announced a ₹51 crore cash reward for the players, support staff, and coaches.
Saikia also added that the BCCI plans to take up a separate issue with the ICC regarding the missing Asia Cup trophy, but details about the celebration will be finalized later.
Where could the open bus parade take place?
Although no official date or city has been declared, it is widely expected that Mumbai, the city where India lifted the World Cup, could host any potential felicitation event once plans are finalized.
Where could the victory bus parade take place?
As of now, no date has been announced for such a celebration post India's Women's World Cup 2025 victory. Moreover, the BCCI is unlikely to host any such event due to logistical and safety concerns.
