With India's preparations for the fourth Test in full swing, the visitors are sweating over several injury concerns. Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer, suffered a blow to his left hand and is out of the fourth Test, while Nitish Reddy faced a ligament tear during his gym session and has also been ruled out of the series.

Anshul Kamboj, the pacer from Haryana, was earlier added to the squad as a cover ahead of the Manchester Test.

With Reddy being ruled out, India's selection dilemma has increased multi-fold. There have been speculations of Kamboj's possible inclusion in the side -- a fast bowling all-rounder from Haryana, who has had an impressive domestic season.
In the last concluded Ranji Trophy season, Kamboj became only the second bowler in the tournament's history to take 10 wickets in an innings. He achieved this feat against Kerala, where he finished with figures of 10/49, bowling 30 overs.

Kamboj had an amazing domestic season overall, picking up 79 wickets in 24 games. The pacer also caught people's attention with his impressive bowling in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, where he was a part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
How has Anshul Kamboj performed in IPL and domestic cricket?
Kamboj has played for two teams in his short IPL career. He made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2024 before being picked up by CSK for IPL 2025. He ended the season with eight wickets in 8 innings at an economy of under 8.

His performances were rewarded as he was picked for India A's tour to England. Kamboj continued his good work and scalped five wickets in two games.
Apart from the bowling, the young star from Haryana has also displayed his batting prowess on several occasions. In his tour to England with India A, he scored an unbeaten half-century playing at No.9. He has also scored some crucial runs playing for his state side on multiple occasions.
