Having topped Group A in the first round, India will lock horns with Pakistan on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai in the Super Four stage of the competition.

In this match, India will have an opportunity to extend their win streak against their arch-rivals to 7 consecutive wins since they were last defeated in 2022.

On the other hand, led by Salman Agha, underdogs Pakistan will look to upset India after finishing second in Group A with wins over the UAE and Oman.

As teams face off for the second time in the ongoing tournament, TSN takes a look at what happened when they last met in Super Four stage of the previous Asia Cup edition.

India last faced Pakistan in Super Four stage during Asia Cup 2023

The last time India and Pakistan faced off in the Super Four was on September 10 and 11, 2023, in Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium. The match, however, was played in the 50-over format to prepare for the World Cup 2023.

The match was rain-affected as captain Babar Azam won the toss and put India to bat first -- a decision they regretted later.

India skipper Rohit Sharma got India to a stellar start, scoring a brisk 56 off 48 alongside Shubman Gill's 58(52) before the centurions Virat Kohli and KL Rahul stitched a stand of 233*(194) for the third wicket.

Kohli scored 122*(94) with the help of 9 fours and three sixes, while Rahul scored 111*(106) with 12 fours and two sixes. Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan took a wicket each as India finished at 356/2.

Playing with four pacers and two spinners, India ran over the Pakistan batting and bundled the Men in Green for just 128 runs in 32 overs, despite starts for Fakhar Zaman (27 off 50), Salman Agha (23 off 32) and Iftikhar Ahmed (23 off 35).

Kuldeep Yadav was India's pick of the bowlers with 5/25 in 8 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur scalped a wicket each.

Later in the Super Four, the Men in Blue defeated Sri Lanka and lost to Bangladesh. However, they finished the tournament on a strong note by clinching the title in the final against Sri Lanka.
