India faces Pakistan once again on the cricket field after the teams were grouped in Pool C of the Hong Kong International Sixes 2025 tournament.

The six-over tournament, which had previously featured stars like Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, and MS Dhoni, returned in 2024 after a seven-year hiatus.

In their last meeting in the 2024 edition, courtesy of Asif Ali's 55(14), Pakistan chased 120 runs against India in just five overs in 2024.

Following the controversy-laden Asia Cup, tensions have escalated between the cricketing powerhouses. Now it will be interesting whether the same issues will continue at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025.

Will India snub the handshake against Pakistan in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025?

During the recent Asia Cup in the UAE, India and Pakistan faced each other on three occasions: in the group stage, the Super Fours, and the final.

However, following cross-border tensions between the neighbours in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, the matches were overshadowed by controversies.

While the two sides still faced each other in the tournament, captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team decided to boycott shaking hands with Pakistan players.

The Indian players snubbed handshakes at the toss or after the match, a move for which they faced scrutiny from the cricket fraternity after the group stage. However, India stuck to its stance and continued to snub Pakistan in the other two matches as well.

While no player or the organisation has spoken about the Hong Kong Sixes match between the teams yet, it is expected that Karthik and team will once again avoid any customary handshakes with the Abbas Afridi-led Pakistan.
