The visitors will be without three of their most senior players - Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin. A relatively young squad led by the new skipper Shubman Gill look to start the new era on a positive note as India hopes to win a Test series on English soil after 18 years.

Ben Stokes and co. have fared quite well in their recent outings in the longest format, and will look to keep their record against India at home intact.

Dale Steyn backs England to win series vs India

South African legend Dale Steyn has predicted a 3-2 series win for England in the upcoming Test series against India. However, he also mentioned that all the matches will be close, with both teams giving it their all till the very end.

Speaking on JioHotstar, Steyn said, "All games will be close. But all will have a result. I think it will be 3-2 in favour of England. There will be a result in every Test match. There will be no run away win for any team, all five games will be very close."

The Three Lions have won 15 of their last 20 matches on home soil, losing four and drawing in the process. Their brand of cricket, aka 'the Bazball', has earned praise in the red-ball format; however, their success away from home is still to be tested.

India have performed farely well in the warm up matches leading upto the mega clash, as fans hope for a strong outing under the new captain-coach duo, Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir.
