India are on the verge of losing the opening Test of the five-match series as England are cruising towards the 372-run target on the fifth and final day of the match.

Openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley stitched an outstanding 188-run opening partnership, which built the foundation of their team's run chase. After scoring a half-century in the first innings, Duckett went on to score 149 runs to help his side clinch the game.

The southpaw, however, could have missed his century if Yashasvi Jaiswal had taken his catch in deep square leg. Duckett was batting at 97 when he top-edged Mohammed Siraj's delivery towards deep square leg. Jaiswal came running towards the ball but failed to grasp it properly.

This was Jaiswal's fourth dropped catch of the game as he had earlier missed three easy catches in the first innings. In total, India dropped seven catches throughout the game and their nightmare fielding eventually cost them the first Test.
