Former South African opener and one of the legends of the game, Hashim Amla has revealed his favorite T20 batters from across the world.

Amla in a recent interaction opened up about his top 3 T20 batters, which included India's current T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and world-cup winning skipper Rohit Sharma.

In a recent podcast with Subhankar Mishra, the South African legend was asked to pick his current favourite T20I batters, to which Amla named the former Indian skipper Rohit as one whom him loves to watch. 

Amla's Top 3 T20I batters:

  • Rohit Sharma
  • Heinrich Klaasen
  • Suryakumar Yadav

Rohit became the second Indian captain to win India a T20 World Cup. The triumph came in 2024 when the Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the final and scripted history in Barbados. 

Soon after the triumph, Rohit called time to his magnificent T20I career where he scored 4,231 runs in 151 innings at an average of 32.05. He now continues to play franchise cricket for the Mumbai Indians.

"Rohit. He’s still one of my favourites. I love watching him. The elegance, man. Even in T20 cricket, he still has a smoothness in his shots. It’s beautiful to watch him play T20 cricket."

Amla further picked South Africa's star batter Heinrich, who continues to be one of the most intimidating batters in the world. Klaasen has scored 5,927 runs in T20 cricket at an average of 31.19 and a strike rate of nearly 150. 

Lastly the South African batter went ahead with India's current T20I skipper Suryakumar. Surya has been one of the most prolific T20 batters in the past few years and has scored 8,776 runs at an average of more than 35.
