The online spat between singer Rahul Vaidya and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli may have finally come to a close. After weeks of social media jabs, fan wars and widespread trolling, Vaidya has revealed that the RCB star has unblocked him on Instagram.

The singer welcomed the gesture with a gracious message. But just as one chapter ends, another begins. Former Indian Idol winner Abhijeet Sawant has weighed in on the saga - branding Vaidya’s actions as little more than a publicity stunt.
The original controversy erupted after Vaidya criticised Kohli and his fanbase in an Instagram story. He called the cricketer's fans "even bigger jokers than Virat."

The comment sparked widespread backlash that led Kohli’s brother Vikas to publicly slam Vaidya, calling him a "loser" trying to get famous off Kohli’s name.
Did Rahul Vaidya make peace with Virat Kohli?
Vaidya took to Instagram Stories to share that Kohli has unblocked him. And he responded with warmth.
“Thank you @virat.kohli for unblocking me… you are one of the best batsmen cricket has ever seen and Aap India ka garv ho,” Vaidya wrote.
He also hit out at online trolls who targeted his family:
“To the immature people who abused my wife and sister, morphed pictures of my little girl… may God grant you some wisdom,” he added.

Vaidya further addressed Virat’s brother, writing, "Vikas Kohli bhai, whatever you said to me - I didn’t feel bad… Love and peace to all."
Is Rahul Vaidya just trying to get attention?
Sawant, who once competed with Vaidya on Indian Idol, offered a blunt opinion on the matter. Speaking to Hindi Rush, he said:
"He is somebody who will never go unnoticed. Somebody has this habit of not going unnoticed, he will try to do something to get noticed."

Sawant suggested Vaidya’s remarks lacked substance and seemed to be more about grabbing headlines than making a real point.
Is this the end of the Virat Kohli and Rahul Vaidya controversy?
Vaidya’s comments might signal the end of his feud with Virat Kohli but the side commentary from Sawant shows how public spats can echo longer than expected, especially when they involve two of India’s most passionate fan bases: cricket lovers and music followers.
