The new domestic cricket season in India will begin on August 28 with the Duleep Trophy. This year, the tournament will go back to its zonal format.
Six teams - North, South, West, East, Central and NorthEast will take part with matches being played at the new Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The event will feature several big names like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Shardul Thakur - along with experienced players such as Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.

The Duleep Trophy 2025 will be contested between six teams.

What is the format of the Duleep Trophy 2025?
Unlike last year's round-robin setup, the Duleep Trophy will once again follow a knockout format. South Zone and West Zone - who were the finalists the last time zonal cricket was played, will get direct entry into the semi-finals.
The remaining four teams - Central, East, North, and NorthEast will battle it out in the quarterfinals for a chance to move ahead.
