Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed a lot of limelight earlier this year after his divorce from former wife Dhanashree Verma was finalised in March. 

While the couple were still together, they attracted a lot of media attention with their interesting videos, which went viral on social media. As a result, when they split up, it was no surprise that the divorce was among the most talked-about subjects on the internet. 

Months after the couple's divorce was finalised, Dhanashree is now back in the limelight as she has appeared in a number of interviews in recent times.

In one of her interactions with famous Bollywood producer and director Farah Khan, who now runs her own YouTube channel, Verma claimed that she continues to be in touch with Chahal, even though they are no longer together.

Visiting her home in Mumbai, Farah Khan posed a question related to Chahal to Verma as she asked: "Is this the first time you’re living alone? First you were with your parents, then you married Yuzi and lived with him. Both of you had come to my party…"

In response, Verma made a shocking revelation, as she said: "I am in touch with Yuzi also on messages. He used to call me maa, he is sweet only."

How did the divorce between Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal unfold?

The couple, who married in December 2020, finalised their divorce in March 2025. According to reports, Chahal paid an alimony of ₹4.75 crore as part of the settlement.

Their relationship, once adored on social media, had started when Chahal joined Dhanashree’s online dance classes during the pandemic.

What began as quick romance ended just four years later, turning into a much-debated topic in cricket and entertainment circles.

Adding to the drama, Chahal appeared in court on the day of their divorce wearing a bold T-shirt with the words “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.”

While he later admitted it was his way of drawing a line under the chapter, fans quickly connected it to his ex-wife.
