Pakistan cricket seems headed for another shake-up — this time within the women's setup. The team's disastrous ICC Women's 2025 World Cup campaign has put head coach Mohammad Wasim's future in serious doubt.
With the side struggling to find form and results under his coaching, reports suggest the Pakistan Cricket Board, led by Mohsin Naqvi, is preparing to make yet another major change at the top.

PCB reportedly unhappy with Wasim's performance
According to a PTI report, the PCB has decided not to renew Mohammad Wasim's contract following the team's underwhelming World Cup showing in India and Sri Lanka.
A PCB source told the agency that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was "disappointed" with the team's lack of progress, particularly in batting — an area that was expected to improve under the former international cricketer.

Pakistan failed to register a single win in their seven group-stage matches and were among the first teams knocked out of the tournament. They currently sit seventh on the points table and could finish last depending on Bangladesh's final result against India.
Pakistan's campaign was not just poor, it was also unlucky. Due to political tensions with India, the team had to play all its matches in Sri Lanka during the monsoon season.

Three games were washed out, including one against eventual semi-finalists England, where Pakistan were close to winning before rain intervened.
Despite flashes of competitive bowling, reports indicate Wasim faced criticism for communication issues within the coaching group and a failure to instil consistency in the batting lineup.
Search for a new head coach underway
Wasim, who took charge last year, also oversaw Pakistan's semi-final exit in the Asia Cup and a disappointing Women's T20 World Cup campaign in South Africa. The PCB is reportedly exploring both local and foreign options to replace him soon.
Meanwhile, the men's team continues under New Zealand's Mike Hesson, whose tenure has produced mixed but improving results — at least for now.
