Former England cricketer Ravi Bopara has now commented on the ever-intense rivalry between the two nations. The Englishman stated that he would love to be a part of one such high-voltage clash.

Cricket cannot survive without India, says Ravi Bopara

India recently faced Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup 2025, while the Indian women's side is facing the Pakistan Women in the ongoing ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.

In a recent Podcast with Beard Before Wicket, Bopara highlighted that the Team is the backbone of the sport, and without the side, there would be no cricket.

"It has crossed my mind to know what it would feel like to play for India...They represent a billion people...without India, there is no cricket. They run cricket, and all the money comes through them. A lot of countries in the world can't survive without India."

BCCI happens to be the richest cricketing board in the world. With the Indian Premier League, the board has created opportunities for not only the Indian players but also for players worldwide.

Moreover, when Team India travels abroad, the host nations generate much revenue through ticket sales and broadcasting deals.

"Imagine how much pressure those boys are under day in and day out, so I always wondered what it would be like to play under that sort of pressure."

"India is one of the most followed sides in the world with a global fan following. They represent a billion people, and wherever the side goes, all the limelight is on those players."

The team has been in terrific form across formats in the last few years. They made it to the Finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023 and won the T20 World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy in a span of 8 months in 2024-25.

The side's next big assignment is the home T20 World Cup in 2026, where they will defend their title under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership.
