Suryakumar Yadav impressed by India's training energy
India captain Suryakumar Yadav - leading the side after returning from surgery, was upbeat about the atmosphere in the camp. He praised the commitment of his teammates during the opening session - pointing out how their work ethic set the tone for the tournament.
"To have such a brilliant bunch around with unbelievable skill sets, I always have a smile on my face when I see those boys on the ground. Because the way they put their body on the line, that's what I want from them," Suryakumar said in a BCCI video.
Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah look ahead with confidence
Vice-captain Shubman Gill - fresh from captaining India in the Test series against England, echoed his skipper's views and said the group's style of cricket was exciting to be part of.
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah - back in the T20I squad for the first time since the 2024 World Cup final, called the return "refreshing" after his short break.
Hardik Pandya spoke about using the downtime for family before resuming training early while Arshdeep Singh described the environment as "lively" from day one.
Shivam Dube added that head coach Gautam Gambhir's reminder about making the most of every chance to represent India has already left its mark on the squad.
With eight Asia Cup titles under their name, India will look to carry their momentum into the UAE as preparations gather pace for another campaign.
