With the much-awaited Ashes Test series against England just around the corner, hosts Australia have announced their squad for the first Test. The match is set to be played from November 21st at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
The Aussies will go into the first Test without their regular skipper Pat Cummins who is recovering from a lumbar bone stress injury, incurred in his power back in July 2025.

Sam Konstas dropped from Australia Test team for the Ashes
Smith, who last led Australia in a Test series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, will yet again take the leadership role for the series opener. Australia will go into the series without their young opening sensation, Sam Konstas.
Konstas, who impressed with a remarkable debut series against India, has been a huge disappointment ever since then. The young star ended with just around 50 runs in three Tests in the West Indies and has also been underperforming in Australia's domestic cricket.

Australia's squad for the First Ashes Test against England
Ashes has always been a very highly anticipated series and is more than just cricket. It is a matter of pride between the two teams Australia and England.
As the two sides take to the field for the first Test, Steve Smith would be keen on continuing Australia's dominance against England at home. The side has won 95 out of the 154 Tests at home, while England last won a Test series in Australia way back in 2011-12.
