Asia Cup 2025: Should India bat first against Oman? Aakash Chopra reveals what he wants Suryakumar Yadav to pick if he wins toss image

Reigning champions India are currently bossing the Asia Cup 2025 campaign as they have registered back-to-back wins against UAE and Pakistan and stamped their authority in both matches.

Indian bowlers have displayed top-notch performances, while the batters have shown glimpses of fiery form, including captain Suryakumar Yadav.

In their first match of the group stage, Yadav had opted to field first after winning the toss. Indian bowlers bowled out UAE for just 56 runs, which the batters chased down with ease and lost just one wicket.

In the second game, Pakistan had won the toss and had decided to bat first, although when asked about the outcome of the toss, Yadav had claimed that he would have wanted the same had he won the toss.

Once again, thanks to the Indian bowlers' magnificent performances, Pakistan were restricted to just 127 runs. India did lose three wickets but the entire batting lineup did not get an opportunity to come out and perform.

As per former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, SKY must opt to bat first if he wins the toss against Oman in their third and final match of the group stages, as he wants to see every batter in the lineup perform and get ready for the next round.

Why does Aakash Chopra want India to bat first against Oman?

Explaining his stance on India opting to bat first if they win the toss, Chopra said on his YouTube channel: "Should India bat first if they win the toss? I feel you should put a stamp on that. Bat first. You chased 50-odd runs in the first match and nearly 130 runs in the second match. If you bat first, everyone will get to bat and be in form. Everyone does not have form as of now. We have seen glimpses."
