The countdown has begun for the Asia Cup 2025, which will light up the cricket calendar this September in the UAE.

The competition is set to bring together the top cricketing nations of Asia once again, as eight nations will battle it out for the ultimate prize on the continent.

Defending champions India are clubbed in Group A, alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, hosts UAE and minnows Oman. India begin their title defence on September 10 against UAE, while they face Pakistan on September 14.

The tournament will kick off on September 9 with Afghanistan taking on minnows Hong Kong in the curtain-raiser.

What is the prize money for the Asia Cup 2025?

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have not declared the exact prize money for the tournament yet, however, if media reports are to be believed, then a significant rise in the amount for the winners is on the cards.

In 2022, champions Sri Lanka pocketed USD 200,000 (approximately INR 1.6 crore) for winning the competition, but in 2025, the amount could increase by 50 percent and reach USD 300,000 (approximately INR 2.6 crore).

Similarly, Pakistan, who finished runners-up in 2022, bagged USD 100,000 (approximately INR 80 lakh). This time around, the second-place prize money could go up to USD 150,000 (approximately INR 1.3 crore).

How much will MOTM and MOTS winners earn in the Asia Cup 2025?

As per One Cricket, the Man of the Match winners of each match will earn USD 5,000 (INR 4.34 lakh) in prize money, while the Man of the Series will bag a cash prize of USD 15,000 (approximately INR 13,2576.90).
