With his third straight fifty, Abhishek crossed the 300-run mark, becoming the first player to do so in a single T20 Asia Cup edition.

In the process, he went past the tallies of Virat Kohli and Mohammad Rizwan, who earlier held the top spots for most runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20.
How Abhishek Sharma broke Virat Kohli and Mohammad Rizwan’s T20 Asia Cup record
Coming into the match against Sri Lanka, Abhishek needed only 34 runs to move past Rizwan’s record of 281 runs scored in 2022. He achieved it quickly, reaching the milestone within the powerplay itself.
By the time he was done, Abhishek had surpassed both Rizwan (281) and Kohli (276), who previously held the top two spots.
He is now sitting at the top with 309 runs from six innings. Rizwan’s 281 and Kohli’s 276 are second and third on the list.

The likes of Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran (196 in 2022) and Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat (194 in 2016) follow them.
