The buzz is back as the Asia Cup 2025 comes closer. India have landed in Dubai and started their first training session for the tournament.

The team is looking fresh and hungry, with Suryakumar Yadav as captain and Shubman Gill as his deputy. India will open their campaign on September 10, and the big clash against Pakistan is fixed for September 14.

Ahead of this high-voltage match, one record of Jasprit Bumrah has again become the talking point- he has bowled 391 balls to Pakistan and not a single six has been hit off him.

Jasprit Bumrah’s special record vs Pakistan

Bumrah is known as a bowler who doesn’t give away runs easily. But against Pakistan, his numbers are even more scary.

In ODIs from 2017 to 2023, he has played 8 matches, bowled 51 overs, and picked up 7 wickets. His best ODI figure against them is 2/19 and his economy rate is 4.53. His bowling average is 33.14 and strike rate is 43.8.

In T20Is, Bumrah has been even sharper. In just 4 games, he has taken 5 wickets with an average of 15.20 and a superb economy rate of only 5.42.

Fans still remember his 3/14 spell in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he helped India defend a low score and win a thriller against Pakistan.

And in Asia Cup matches, he has left his mark too. In 2016 (T20I), he bowled 3 overs, gave only 8 runs, and picked a wicket. In 2018 (ODI Super Four), he struck with 2/29. In 2023, he was again crucial, with 4 wickets across the tournament and an economy rate of just 4.17.

Put all this together, plus the fact that Pakistan batters have never been able to hit him for a six in 391 balls and you see why he is India’s main weapon for the big games.

How is India preparing in Dubai for Asia Cup 2025?

The Indian squad reached the UAE in groups, and their first training session took place in Dubai on Friday. What caught attention was the missing Dream11 logo on the training kit.

The sponsorship deal ended due to the new Online Gaming Bill, and now BCCI is searching for new lead sponsors. Fresh tenders have been invited, and the decision should be done by month end.

India will play Oman first on September 10 and then Pakistan on September 14. If things go as expected, fans may get to watch India and Pakistan face each other up to three times in this tournament, including a possible final.
