33 runs for 9 wickets! Kuldeep Yadav triggers Pakistan's shocking collapse in IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 final image

This Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan was looking like a tense one but India’s spinners turned it upside down in no time.

Pakistan, who looked well set at one stage, crumbled in stunning fashion as Kuldeep Yadav led a collapse that turned the contest heavily in India’s favor.

Let's see what happened.

How did Pakistan’s batting collapse begin in the Asia Cup Final 2025?

At the start, Pakistan looked in full control. Sahibzada Farhan batted with confidence, attacking Jasprit Bumrah and even raising a quick half-century. The team was cruising at 113 for 1 and looked on track for a big total.

But the real challenge was always going to be against India’s spin attack and once Varun Chakaravarthy broke the opening stand, the momentum completely shifted.

From there, Pakistan lost nine wickets for just 33 runs, unable to adjust to the grip and turn on offer.

Fakhar Zaman’s dismissal opened the floodgates, and suddenly what looked like a strong position turned into complete panic.

What role did Kuldeep Yadav play in the collapse against Pakistan?

Kuldeep Yadav was the main destroyer. After conceding 23 runs in his first two overs, he came back firing and produced a spell that ripped through Pakistan’s batting.

In last two overs, he picked up four wickets while giving away only seven runs. His variations and control left Pakistan’s middle-order clueless and he ended with stunning figures of 4/30.

Alongside Kuldeep, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy kept things extremely tight.

The numbers tell the full story of Pakistan’s downfall. Against pace, they managed 48 runs in just over six overs for the loss of two wickets.

But against spin, the damage was catastrophic- 95 runs for eight wickets across 13 overs. From being 113/1, Pakistan folded for just 146 with five balls left in their innings.

It was a shocking sight in a high-stakes final, as the team that started so brightly ended up losing nine wickets for just 33 runs.
