Fast-rising UK star Jack ‘Demolition Man’ Rafferty defends his British and Commonwealth super-lightweight championships to latest challenger Mark Thunder’ Chamberlain in the main event of a Queensberry Promotions show, promoted by Frank Warren.
Rafferty secured his British belt with a ninth-round stoppage win over the highly-rated prospect, Henry Turner, in October 2024 in Liverpool, in what was his breakout fight.
The 29-year-old from Manchester spent a long time competing on local small hall shows around the North West of England, building up his record against journeymen for very little recognition and reward, until he finally got his big break against the aforementioned Turner.
Prior to that, there was a ninth-round knockout over dangerous foe Ben Fields in September 2023, promptly followed up with an impressive first-round win over Lee Appleyard exactly three months later to claim his first ever belt – the Commonwealth super-lightweight crown.
He added the British and WBC International Silver titles with his win over Turner, and has defended that trio of titles successfully this year, in February, against Central Area titlist, Reece 'Raging Bull' MacMillan, via seventh-round stoppage.
In his next fight, he retained his Commonwealth crown within five rounds against undefeated challenger, Cory O’Regan, in April, making it six stoppages in a row.
Former IBF European, WBA Intercontinental and WBC Silver lightweight titlist, Mark Chamberlain, was on the cusp of challenging for a world title before he suffered his shock career defeat to Josh Padley last September.
The southpaw from Portsmouth was headed for greatness after winning seven of his first 10 bouts by knockout – five within the first round.
A KO victory over Welshman Gavin Gwynne solidified his status as a top prospect, but it all came crashing down when he was dropped by Padley in the eighth round of their September 2024 clash, ultimately losing on points.
Padley went on to fight WBC world lightweight champion, Shakur Stevenson, next, which is where Chamberlain could have been.
Still only 26, Chamberlain has bounced back with a debut win at super-lightweight securing a respectable eight-round decision victory scored at 80-72 over Miguel Angel Scaringi in April, and now looks to become a champion again, up in his second weight class.

Predictions
Chamberlain could potentially be the toughest opponent yet, but Rafferty’s current momentum is going to be difficult to slow down, with six successive KOs against good domestic competition in the UK.
Once he stepped up, he stopped them all. His recent six KOs have come in rounds 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 – twice.
This has the potential to be a fight of the year contender, with both boxers tough and tenacious, unyielding and unwilling to give up.
Rafferty’s doggedness and determination could be the key factor in the champion's chances to retain his silverware.
It's set to be a real war of attrition, which could provide the world with a fantastic advert for a what to expect from a British title fight.
Prediction: Rafferty to win via KO.
Extra Tip: Rafferty to win via KO in rounds 6-12.
