Serie A predictions, odds and betting tips for 2025/26 including winner, relegation and top scorer image

The 2025/26 Serie A season is upon us, and there is a lot to look forward to as the Campeonato in Italy gets back underway, with Napoli seeking to defend the title.

Antonio Conte led the Neapolitans to their fourth Scudetto last season, but the former Juventus and Chelsea boss will have to balance domestic commitments with a UEFA Champions League run; something he has always struggled to do.

That will give hope to the chasing pack as AC Milan and Inter Milan embark upon new eras with Cristian Chivu and Massimiliano Allegri now in situ at San Siro. Elsewhere, Maurizio Sarri has returned to Lazio, Gian Piero Gasperini has moved from Atalanta to Roma and Igor Tudor begins the campaign under immediate pressure at Juventus.

Drama and entertainment is to be expected throughout in what is arguably Europe’s most fascinating and competitive league, and The Sporting News brings you the latest tips and odds.

Serie A predictions 2025/26: Title winner

Defending champions Napoli remain the favourites to win the Serie A title once again, with the signings of Sam Beukema, Kevin De Bruyne, Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca giving Conte a lot more firepower to fight on all fronts.

Inter are going through a transition period and their squad remains strong, but doubts will remain over manager Chivu, and the same could probably be said for Tudor at Juve. Milan, with Allegri back in place, could well be the dark horses to be Napoli’s closest challengers, with the Rossoneri coming through an impressive pre-season.

Serie A predictions 2025/26: Relegation candidates

Two of last season’s promoted teams are expected to be relegated according to the odds, with Cremonese and Pisa, now the home of Juan Cuadrado, both expected to struggle this season.

The other promoted side, Sassuolo, should never really have gone down in the first place and the Domenico Berardi-captained Neroverdi should ease themselves into the mid-table spots.

Hellas Verona and Lecce have been circling the drain for a while and are likely strugglers, as are Cagliari, with Parma embarking upon a new era under Chivu's successor, Carlos Cuesta.

Serie A predictions 2025/26: Capocannoniere race

The Capocannoniere is Serie A’s top scorer award. Mateo Retegui was the top scorer last season but the Italy international has since moved to Al Qadsiah.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is rated as the favourite, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner developing and maturing into one of the very best players in the world in recent years.

Jonathan David has joined Juve on a free transfer from Lille, and he will be expected to be up there, with Moise Kean likely to continue his good form for Fiorentina.

Lorenzo Lucca has a real chance, too, following Romelu Lukaku's injury. He will hope to profit from the service expected to be provided by De Bruyne.

Serie A predictions 2025/26: Top four contenders

The aforementioned title race teams will be expected to be in the top four, but they all have their fallibilities and concerns, potentially opening the door for other contenders such as Roma, who poached Gasperini after the magnificent work he did at Atalanta.

Ivan Juric in at Atalanta, following his relegation with Southampton last season, is expected to contribute to a natural regression from the Bergamasci, and Sarri will be hoping that his settled Lazio side, as a result of a transfer ban, could prove to be a blessing in disguise.

The one team to keep an eye out for this season will be Cesc Fabregas’ Como, who gained promotion in the 2023/24 season and finished last season exceptionally well. The Spaniard has been heavily financially backed in the summer transfer window, too.
