Texas women’s basketball added another major piece to its future on Thursday, landing a commitment from Addison Bjorn, the No. 10 recruit in the girls’ SC Next 100 class of 2026. The decision gives coach Vic Schaefer back-to-back top-10 prospects, following Wednesday’s signing of No. 8 Brihanna Crittendon.

Bjorn, a 6-foot-1 wing and longtime USA Basketball standout, chose the Longhorns over 30 other programs.

“I chose Texas because of the strong winning culture and it really felt like home,” Bjorn told ESPN. “My goal is to do whatever it takes to help bring a national championship to Texas.”

Bjorn averaged 17.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists this spring on the Nike EYBL circuit with All-Iowa Attack, shooting 65% from the field. She has earned gold medals at the U19 World Cup, U17 World Cup and U16 AmeriCup, reinforcing her status as one of the top young prospects in the country.

Bjorn joins a growing 2026 class that already includes two top-60 recruits, point guard Aaliah Spaight and guard Amalia Holguin, boosting Texas’ long-term depth in the SEC.
