The Dallas Wings will have the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft for a second year in a row.
It's a chance for the franchise to really turn itself around, having already taken Paige Bueckers out of UConn with the first pick of the 2025 draft.
The 2026 draft features a lot of talent, but one player stands literally above the rest: UCLA's 6-foot-7 Lauren Betts.
That's who Bleacher Report's Rachel Galligan predicts the Wings will take in the No. 1 spot.
"Lauren Betts is a top contender as the potential top overall pick due to her elite 6'7" size paired with power, rim protection and rare mobility," Galligan writes. "Betts is one of the most efficient scorers in the country, shooting 65 percent from the floor last season for UCLA while averaging 20.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game."
It's an interesting decision atop the draft board for Dallas specifically because they just took Bueckers. They don't need another ball dominant player.
Someone like Olivia Miles, formerly of Notre Dame and now TCU, would likely be a strong top pick contender if the team picking first didn't already have a playmaker like Bueckers.
Galligan's mock has the 6-foot-5 Awa Fam from Spain set to go no. 2, and she writes Fam "could even end up being the No. 1 selection" at just 19 years old.
Miles slots in third in the mock draft to the Seattle Storm, followed by Azzi Fudd to the Washington Mystics and Flau'Jae Johnson to the Chicago Sky.
There's a whole college basketball season to go before any picks are made, but it's fun to start picturing the future now.
