Say what you want about Angel Reese — she’s the best rebounder in WNBA history already image

Everyone has an opinion on Angel Reese.

But how's this for a fact about the second-year forward for the Chicago Sky: The WNBA has never had a rebounder like her, ever.

She just grabbed 15 rebounds (to go with 22 points) on Tuesday afternoon against the Washington Mystics.

It's Reese's sixth consecutive game with at least 15 rebounds.

She tied the league's record for single-season 15-rebound games last season with A'ja Wilson, who also had 11 games of 15 or more rebounds in 2024.

Reese already has eight of those season, with plenty of time to break the record.

And while much has been about "Me-bounds," Reese chasing down her own misses actually doesn't happen a ton, despite her wearing a shirt representing that social media word creation.

As a rookie, Reese averaged 13.12 rebounds per game. That's the WNBA record, for anyone, not just a record.

Her average this season is up to 12.94 per game. That would rank second in WNBA history, behind just herself.

Sylvia Fowles has the career average top spot, at 9.82 rebounds per game. If Reese stays healthy, she'll have a strong chance to break that, too.

There's more to basketball than rebounding, of course. But Reese has been pouring in the points and even dishing out assists lately, too.

Reese has clearly grown her skillset since she entered the league.

She's already got the super rebounding gene. If she builds around it enough, Reese can still wind up the star that many either really want her to be or really don't want her to be.

And even if the skills don't grow anymore, Reese can still be the best rebounder the W has ever seen.
