After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings, Paige Bueckers is the league's new star rookie. While her play on the court turns heads quite frequently, Bueckers showed up to the Wings media day on Wednesday sporting a new haircut that caught fans' attention.

Bueckers was the clear-cut No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft class after a standout collegiate career with the UConn Huskies. In her final season, Bueckers averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 53.4% from the field, leading UConn all the way to a National Championship.

Now, Bueckers is tasked with helping Dallas turn things around after they posted just a 9-31 record last season. However, before the regular season can get underway, preseason action and events like media day need to take place. On Wednesday, Bueckers took part in her first WNBA media day, and her new haircut was the talk of the town.

The replies to Bueckers' new hair were overwhelmingly positive from fans on social media. @analystgarciaa was clearly a big fan, saying, "Her hair is eatingggg," in a post on X. @anqwon_randle thinks that the rest of the league needs to take note of Bueckers, saying, "the girls ain't gonna be ready," after seeing her star during media day.

There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Wings, as the belief is that Bueckers will form a strong backcourt duo with four-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale. In 2024, Ogunbowale was pretty much the only bright spot for Dallas, as she averaged 22.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game.

With the preseason in the rearview mirror, Bueckers and the Wings will be preparing for their regular season opener now. They will kick off the 2025 campaign against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
