Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky needed the positive feelings that Wednesday's resounding home win over the Connecticut Sun brought.
Yet, despite the Sky's 88-64 victory at Wintrust Arena, controversy continues to swirl around Reese, the All-Star forward who has expressed discontent with Chicago's direction as a franchise.
Is Angel Reese suspended?
Reese has been suspended one game, the WNBA announced on Thursday.
In the second quarter of Wednesday night's game, Reese was assessed a technical foul for a tussle with Connecticut's Aaliyah Edwards.
The two forwards were battling for position under the basket, and Reese made contact with Edwards' head, sending her to the floor and prompting a review from the officials.

Due to the incident, Reese will miss the Sky's next game on Friday night against the Indiana Fever. This is because she has picked up her eighth technical foul of the 2025 season.
By WNBA rule, a player is automatically assessed a one-game suspension when they reach eight technical fouls. In previous seasons, the limit was seven techs; the rule was amended for 2025 to coincide with the new, expanded 44-game schedule.

Reese claimed post-game that the referees told her she was going to be assessed either a technical or a flagrant foul, but that upon review, the crew determined it was "too late" to assess a flagrant on the play.
This led to head coach Tyler Marsh explaining that the Sky planned to appeal Reese's technical, in hopes that the WNBA would rescind it and allow Reese to play in Indiana.
