On Wednesday, it was revealed that Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese would grace the cover of the NBA 2K26 video game's WNBA Edition, which will be sold exclusively through GameStop.

Reese joins an exclusive club of six WNBA stars who have appeared on a 2K cover. But unlike those over cover stars, Reese simultaneously announced her first signature shoe through Reebok when she was confirmed for the newest 2K game -- a marketing ploy that has been hailed as a genius move for the two-time All-Star.

Reese and Sabrina Ionescu now have these two things in common: both have been featured on a 2K cover, and both have a signature shoe line. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Liberty sharpshooter Ionescu praised Reese for "knocking two birds with one stone" in a move that enhances her popularity around the world.

"I'm really happy for her to be able to see her kind of get her flowers so early on in her career, just knowing that I was able to be on (the 2K24 cover) and how that moment meant a lot for me and my family," Ionescu said.

Ionescu (Team Clark) and Reese (Team Collier) will go head-to-head during the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis on July 19.
