The Las Vegas Aces' 2025 season is off to a rough start, and things could potentially get rougher.
Reigning league MVP A'ja Wilson took a scary fall in Las Vegas' loss to the New York Liberty on Tuesday, July 8. As Wilson's night ended early due to the injury, the focus immediately shifted from getting the season back on track to the long-term health of the superstar forward.
Wilson has already missed three games this season, and Las Vegas posted a 1-2 record in her absence. She was limited to 14 minutes of action on Tuesday, and her team suffered a nine-point loss to the defending champs.

The franchise has not disclosed any more information on the distinction of the injury, but head coach Becky Hammon said Wilson would undergo an MRI on Wednesday.
Wednesday morning, Wilson took to social media to provide an update on her status, saying, "Nothing wakes you up like the sound of an MRI machine," adding that "God has a plan that I'll never question. We are gonna be alright!"
This season, Wilson is averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, but Las Vegas has posted a 9-10 record through 19 games.
