The United States women's basketball program is going to hold a training camp in December.
They've called up an incredibly exciting list of 18 names that includes Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, JuJu Watkins and more.
Those are four of the 10 players who will be making their senior national team camp debuts.
That full list of 10 called up to the United States for the first time:
- Lauren Betts
- Cameron Brink
- Paige Bueckers
- Veronica Burton
- Sonia Citron
- Caitlin Clark
- Kiki Iriafen
- Rickea Jackson
- Angel Reese
- JuJu Watkins
The eight players with U.S. Senior team experience who were called up are:
- Kahleah Copper
- Chelsea Gray
- Brittney Griner
- Kelsey Plum
- Jackie Young
- Dearica Hamby
- Brionna Jones
- Aliyah WBoston
Kara Lawson, the head coach at Duke, will lead the camp.
Her assistants will be Natalie Nakase (Golden State Valkyries), Nate Tibbets (Phoenix Mercury) and Stephanie White (Indiana Fever).
This is just an evaluation camp from Dec. 12 through 14. The players won't play any games against other countries.
Watkins isn't healthy and will just learn the program and observe.
The U.S. National team managing director is Sue Bird.
The next main competition for the United States is the FIBA Women's World Cup, which takes place from Sept. 4-13, 2026, in Berlin, Germany. The U.S. Has won the last four World Cup gold medals.
