Torrey Stafford is new to the University of Texas this year.
She previously showed her volleyball dominance on the court at Pitt. This fall, though, she has shone brightly for the Longhorns.
Rarely has she been better than she was on Friday afternoon in the NCAA regional semifinal.
With 1-seed Texas taking on 4-seed Indiana, it was the Stafford show in a three-set sweep to advance to the Elite Eight.
Stafford had 19 kills on 28 attempts, with no errors. Her hitting percentage was a ridiculous.679.
And while she was at it, Stafford added eight digs, tied for a team best with Emma Halter. Stafford also had a solo block and three block assists.
Stafford was the only Texas player in double-digits for kills.
Cari Spears, the daughter of ex-NFL player Marcus Spears, added eight kills (.313).
Ella Swindle did the distributing with 30 assists.
Ayden Ames (six block assists) and Nya Bunton (five block assists) were a defensive menace at the net.
Led by Stafford, and with all those other contributions, Texas moved on to the regional final.
