Noah Lyles has a chance at revenge.
The 2023 world champion in the 200 meters didn't win the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. That went to Letsile Tebogo of Botswana.
On Friday in Tokyo, it's time for a rematch.
That's when the 2025 world final in the 200 will take place, and Lyles will go into the race with the fastest time in the world this year. He rattled off a 19.51 seconds in the semifinals.
“The message today was that they can't beat me," Lyles said after the race. "I knew I was running fast when I exited the curve but I didn't expect 19.51. I was expecting 19.60 or 19.70. Don't miss the final, it's going to be magical.”
