The 2025 Wimbledon is well underway in London. The women's bracket has undergone a rare early defeat in the first week. Four of the top five seeds have already been eliminated so far this week.

Jessica Pegula, the tournament's third seed, was eliminated on Tuesday after a first-round exit to Elisabetta Cocciaretto after getting beaten in straight sets.

Then, the 2025 Roland-Garros champion, the second-seeded Coco Gauff, was also eliminated in straight sets by Dayana Yastremska. Gauff, a 2025 major champion, said after her loss that she was "mentally overwhelmed."

The number five seed, Zheng Qinwen, was also eliminated on Tuesday. Katerina Sinikova defeated Qinwen in straight sets on the grass court.

Finally, the number four seed, Jasmine Paolini, was eliminated in the second round on Wednesday by the notable Russian, Kamilia Rakhimova.

Aryna Sabalenka is the only top-five seed remaining in the Wimbledon women's bracket. The world number one should have some favorable matchups to capture another major championship.

Sabalenka has not won a Wimbledon trophy before, but she has made it to the semifinals twice in her career. An inexperienced field remains, which should give Sabalenka major confidence to get it done on grass.
