Arsenal welcome Nottingham Forest to the Emirates on Saturday looking to bounce back from their narrow 1-0 defeat at Liverpool before the international break.

Mikel Arteta’s side had made a strong start with wins over Manchester United and Leeds, and victory here would temporarily take them top of the table. Their record at home to Forest, four straight wins at the Emirates, including a 3-0 triumph last season, makes them heavy favourites.

For Forest, it’s a new era under Ange Postecoglou after Nuno Espirito Santo’s dismissal. But the Australian faces a daunting first test in North London. The Tricky Trees opened their season brightly with four points from their first two matches but were brought back down to earth by a 3-0 home loss to West Ham.

They could unsettle the Gunners on counter. However, they haven’t won at the Emirates in their history and last claimed an away league win over Arsenal back in 1989.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest lineups, team news

Manager Mikel Arteta has six outstanding injuries in his squad despite the season entering just the fourth matchweek.

They have two defenders missing action: William Saliba, who suffered an ankle injury, and Ben White, who sustained a knock last month. A defensive reshuffle will therefore be required.

Bukayo Saka, who suffered a hamstring injury, and Kai Havertz, who has a knee issue, are also expected to miss Arsenal's upcoming match. Gabriel Jesus sustained a cruciate ligament tear in January this year and is expected to return to the pitch by the end of next month.

The game against Forest could see Eberechi Eze receive his first start for Arsenal after making his debut at Anfield. The 27-year-old joined the Gunners from Crystal Palace on a four-year deal reportedly worth over £60 million ($81m) late in the transfer window.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori — Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice — Madueke, Gyokeres, Eze

Injured: Jesus (ACL), Saliba (ankle), White (knock), Norgaard (knock), Saka (hamstring), Havertz (knee)
Suspended: None

This will be quite the opening test for Postecoglou, appointed Forest head coach following the dismissal of Nuno, who was in charge since 2023.

The Australian's main injury headache concerns Nicolas Dominguez, who is missing due to a knee injury. Otherwise, the big questions concern how Postecoglou will go about setting up a team that was adept at carrying out low-possession, counter-attacking football under his predecessor.

Nottingham Forest predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Sels (GK) — Savona, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams — Anderson, Yates — McAtee, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi — Wood

Injured: Dominguez (knee)
Suspended: None
