Bayern Munich have endured a stuttering summer transfer window after missing out on multiple signings.
Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams both rejected a move to Bavaria, but Germany international Nick Woltemade is reportedly keen on move to the Allianz Arena, despite Stuttgart blocking negotiations until their demands are met.
Bayern Munich bosses were impressed with the 23-year-old's performances in the U21 Euros in June, where he finished as the tournament's top scorer, and they have launched an initial attempt to sign him.
However, Stuttgart's leadership have remained fixed on their stance of demanding €65m [$75m] to consider a sale.
Bayern Munich's latest offer landed at around €50m [$58m], but that was rejected by Stuttgart, as they also cancelled a meeting to discuss a deal.
Stuttgart's stance follows similar deals this summer, including Liverpool splashing big money on Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, and Chelsea also spending a decent amount on former Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
In the January transfer window, Manchester City invested lavishly to secure Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Stuttgart believe their valuation of Woltemade is justified compared to the eye-catching amounts other Bundesliga clubs have charged for their players in the last 12 months.
Bayern Munich are confident they can agree personal terms with Woltemade before working on Stuttgart's stance.
What advice did Denis Undav offer Nick Woltemade?
Woltemade had a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists across all competitions. Five of his goals came in the DFB Pokal, guiding Stuttgart to glory in that competition.

Amid the rumours and uncertainty on his future, strike partner Denis Undav has backed his compatriot and shared some valuable advice.
"We all want to help him so he can stay clear headed. It’s completely understandable that a player is concerned when Bayern calls," " Undav told Kicker.
"Before the training camp, I wrote to him once or twice and told him not to read so much, not to look left and right, and not worry about whether the fans still like him. He should not worry too much and just give it his all.

"He should never forget we stand behind him, even if he leaves the club. We need him no less now than before, and in the future as well."
While Woltemade will want the transfer saga settled as early as possible a resolution does not look close.
The upcoming season will be crucial for him, especially with the World Cup happening next year, and him being in the reckoning to start for Julian Nagelsmann's national team.
