After play was halted for over three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Serie A has returned to action. The Italian soccer league shut down its season March 9 after the completion of Matchday 26.

The season resumed June 20-21 with a pair of matches each day to make up for the four matches from Matchday 25 that were postponed. A full slate of games began on June 22-24. Each club will play multiple matches a week with the season slated to finish on Aug. 2.

When the season was stopped, Juventus led Lazio by one point in the table with Inter nine points back with a match in hand. Several weeks after the restart, Juventus claimed their ninth consecutive title.
