Another big season awaits Real Madrid in 2022-23 as they look to defend their La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles.

Carlo Ancelotti led the team back to European glory in 2021-22 with Karim Benzema close to unstoppable in front of goal

Despite being linked with moves for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, Real Madrid have had a quiet offseason in the transfer market only bringing in Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni.

A host of players have left the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer with the likes of Gareth Bale, Icso and Marcelo all allowed to depart.

Having had so much success last season, Ancelotti seems content with his squad and simply looked to consolidate heading into the new campaign.

Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni are the only new arrivals so far at Real Madrid for the 2022-23 season.

Rudiger, who joined from Chelsea on a free transfer, has been handed the No.22 jersey, while Tchouameni will wear 18 on his back.

Captain Karim Benzema remains the club's No.9 with Thibaut Courtois also comfortably retaining his No.1 shirt.

Real Madrid manager and coaching staff

Ancelotti will embark on another season as Real Madrid manager in 2022-23.

The Italian returned to the club last season as he won La Liga for the first time and became the first manager to win Europe's top five leagues

Ancelotti will once again be assisted by his son Davide, who has also worked with his father at Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton.

How will Real Madrid line up this season?

With few major squad changes over the summer, Real Madrid are expected to line up much like they did in 2021-22.

Ancelotti favoured a 4-3-3 formation last season and used that in the club's 2022-23 season-opening Super Cup victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The formation and players used are expected to remain largely the same this season.

The likes of Eden Hazard, Eduardo Camavinga and Rudiger will, however, be eager to push their case for a regular starting spot as the season progresses.

Predicted Real Madrid line-up: Courtouis - Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy - Modric, Casemiro, Kroos - Valverde, Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
