Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United has received a major boost as Crystal Palace are now open to negotiating the sale of Eberechi Eze, but there's one big condition attached.
As per TEAMtalk, Newcastle are among the clubs keen on signing the 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been in top form this season.
Eze has produced 5 goals and 8 assists in 32 league appearances, proving crucial in Palace’s midfield. Originally signed from Queens Park Rangers for £19.5 million in 2020, his rise has justified the investment.
While Eze’s current contract includes a release clause of around €80 million (£67.7m), TEAMtalk reports that Palace may consider offers around €70m (£59.2m).

However, a star could only consider move if Newcastle qualify for next season’s Champions League.
That seems likely for Magpies who have just moved up the table, following a clinical 2-0 win over Chelsea. They now sit third in the Premier League with 66 points from 36 matches.

But Newcastle aren’t alone in the chase. Nottingham Forest are also interested and see Eze as a major upgrade to their attacking options, and they, too, remain in the hunt for a top-four finish.
They currently sit at seventh with 61 points from 35 matches.
Newcastle keen on Belgian talent
According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle United are tracking Lyon’s 20-year-old winger Malick Fofana, with Arsenal and Liverpool also interested.
The Belgian talent, who moved from Gent in 2024, has notched 15 goals this season and the Magpies view him as a potential spark to strengthen their attacking depth.
